Meet Wanda Cooper
A long-life native of Virginia Beach, Wanda Cooper has over nineteen years of experience in the areas of criminal defense, traffic, personal injury, debt collections, and corporate law. She received her Bachelor of Science from Old Dominion University in Political Science with a minor in Criminal Justice. In 2002, Wanda received her Juris Doctor from the Regent University School of Law. She is a member of the Virginia State Bar and received the distinguished honor of the Virginia Family Law Book Award in 2002. Wanda is also a graduate of the CIVIC Leadership Institute.
Wanda has served as General Counsel for Sona International Corporation where she led the legal department in dealing with contract negotiations, healthcare issues, personal injury matters, and franchise law. She started The Cooper Law Firm in 2005 where she focuses on serious criminal and traffic defense both in state and federal court.

Wanda Cooper is a true Lady of Justice. Wanda has received many honors and awards for the work she does in the legal community. She was awarded by the Urban League the distinguished and coveted Silver Star Award. She was selected as one of Inside Business’ Top 40 under 40 and awarded their Woman in Business Award. She received the YWCA 2014 Women of Distinction Award and was named “Lawyer of the Year” at the 2015 Excellence Awards. She has been featured in Inside Business and the Virginian Pilot newspaper. Her firm was awarded the City of Virginia Beach’s Minority Business of the Year Award. She was the former Chair of the Minority Business Council for the City of Virginia Beach. She is a member of the Virginia State Bar and serves on the Board of Directors of the Tidewater Community College Real Estate Foundation board. She is also on the Governing Board of Green Run Collegiate and a member of the Towne Bank Board of Directors Leadership Alliance. In her spare time, Wanda enjoys playing golf and spending time with family and friends.
